Today, Wednesday, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, called on the federal government to complete the necessary steps to turn Halabja into the nineteenth Iraqi province.
Barzani called on the international community and the developed world to continue their efforts to prevent the recurrence of the Halabja tragedy anywhere else on the ground, and to ban the use and production of weapons of mass destruction once and for all.
Barzani called on the Kurdish parties to work together to achieve the full constitutional rights of the people of Kurdistan and to protect the federalism and constitutional entity of the Kurdistan Region.
