Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed stressed the importance of the role of clans and their positive impact on the social, political and economic levels and consolidating the foundations of stability.
A statement by the Office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, received in his official office in Baghdad a delegation of sheikhs and clan dignitaries in Baghdad and the southern provinces, and during the meeting, they talked about the authenticity and heritage of Iraqi clans and tribes and their depth. The historical and continuous efforts to support the social system and resolve conflicts and problems among members of society by peaceful means, as well as providing support to state institutions in difficult circumstances.
