A member of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Ali Al-Fatlawi, warned, on Thursday, of a judicial decision to dissolve the House of Representatives in the event of its failure to hold a session to elect the president of the republic.
Al-Fatlawi said in a statement to "The Information", that "the political blocs and parties inside the parliament have a historic and pivotal responsibility represented in holding a session to elect a new president of the republic," noting that "Iraq is going through a dangerous stage and a turning point in the political process that will greatly affect the Iraqis."
He added, "If the political blocs fail to pass the President of the Republic, the Federal Court will be forced to take a decision that forces the current parliament to dissolve itself and move to the stage of forming a government of salvation, due to the end of all constitutional times."
A member of the Al-Fateh Alliance explained that "the Iraqi people are not ready to hold early elections again or go along with the next stage represented by the Salvation Government," calling on the political blocs to "negotiations and discussions before the next session is held and try to proceed with the formation of the presidency and the ministers in the service of the Iraqi people." Done/25 SR
