Earth News/ The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan announced today, Sunday, the boycott of the Iraqi parliament session dedicated to electing the new president of the republic, next Saturday.
The leader of the Union, Ghiath al-Sorji, said, in an interview with Earth News, that "the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has not, until this moment, taken an official decision to participate in the Iraqi parliament session dedicated to electing the new president of the republic, next Saturday, or boycotting this session," noting that "it will take An official decision to boycott within the next two days.”
Al-Sorji added, "The coordinating framework is very close to us, and that is why it will boycott the session with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and we will use the blocking third, to prevent the session from being held and the passage of the Kurdistan Democratic Party candidate for the presidency of the republic."
