Today, Thursday, the Iraqi News Agency reported the arrival of Defense Minister Juma Inad to Nineveh Governorate, where he inspected the military units and met with security leaders to "inform the security situation in the province."
Earlier today, the Rudaw media network quoted the commander of western Nineveh operations as confirming that "the security situation in Sinjar and its suburbs has begun to stabilize... and there are no armed manifestations in the judiciary."
This comes after a spokesman for the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, Tahsin al-Khafaji, said earlier this week that the authorities would not allow the presence of any party headquarters operating against the state in Sinjar district, Nineveh Governorate.

Prior to that, the Security Media Cell said that a group of members of what it called "the Al-Yabsha organization" blocked a number of roads and prevented the movement of citizens in the Sinjar district in the north of the country, which prompted the security forces to deal with them.
Al-Khafaji was quoted by the Iraqi News Agency as saying, "The joint operations have implemented the Sinjar Agreement to the full and will not allow the presence of any party headquarters operating against the state. The Iraqi army has done a great and mighty job in preparing the infrastructure and helping the displaced to return to their homes in the judiciary."
The Iraqi News Agency quoted the cell as saying that the military forces opened the roads, but "they were subjected to heavy firing with the spread of snipers on the roofs of a number of buildings, and the roads were planted with explosive devices."
