Baghdad needs a "revolution" for services and reconstruction... But!

A member of the House of Representatives from Baghdad Governorate, Madiha Al-Moussawi, confirmed today, Thursday, that the capital needs a “revolution” of services and reconstruction through strategic projects.
Al-Moussawi said, "The capital, Baghdad, suffers from a lot of lack of services and reconstruction, as it needs a "revolution" of services and reconstruction through strategic projects, and this is what we will work on through coordination with the competent executive authorities, especially the Capital Municipality."
And she indicated that "the House of Representatives is currently monitoring the work of the new mayor of the capital, Baghdad, and there will be accountability for any dereliction of duty by providing services and reconstruction."
Al-Moussawi pointed out that "political pressures have greatly affected the progress of the reconstruction process in Iraq in general and the capital, Baghdad in particular," stressing that "the House of Representatives will work to keep the Baghdad services file away from any political courtesies or pressures."
Despite the package of reforms launched by successive governments, more than fifteen years ago, in the files and issues of corruption and lagging projects, some of which amounted to more than 10 years, the country is still experiencing stumbling in the implementation of thousands of projects worth tens of billions of dollars.
Representatives in Parliament attribute the reasons for this to corruption in the first place, in addition to the absence of mechanisms to hold the lagging companies accountable.
