     Baghdad: I am confident

The Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Industry and Trade suggested establishing oil refineries to accommodate thousands of unemployed youth and graduates, and noted that there is no alternative to investment projects to absorb the unemployment crisis.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Planning will launch during the next month a statistical survey that monitors the rates of employment and unemployment and knows the size of the workforce and the unemployed, and it is likely that the recorded rates are higher than the previous ones.
A member of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Industry and Trade, Kazem Al-Fayyad, said: There is a difficulty in appointing all graduates, especially after the spread of private and evening colleges, which led to the doubling of their numbers.
He explained that the best solution to get rid of unemployment that has spread among young people is investment projects.
He referred to addressing the Prime Ministry to find out the details of the initiative launched by the Prime Minister under the slogan (Made in Iraq), as work is taking place in only two laboratories out of 100, and accordingly the committee is following up on the matter to find out the causes and solutions to address unemployment in a manner
    gradual.
Al-Fayyadh pointed out that the committee proposed the establishment of oil refineries in the governorates, which are rich in large quantities of crude, that would employ many unemployed, as well as enhance locally manufactured materials, including fuel, which we suffer from recurring crises because of it at the time.
    the present.
And he indicated that all governorates, especially the southern ones, include many investment opportunities that provide work for the unemployed and contribute to reducing poverty rates, and are not limited to oil projects only, as Dhi Qar governorate alone includes two thousand investment opportunities. Ur is one of the tourist cities that if foreign companies contracted To invest in it by building hotels, stadiums, etc., as well as the religious symbolism that it acquired after the Pope’s visit to the Vatican to become a province different from its status
    Present.
For his part, Head of the Central Statistics Agency in the Ministry of Planning, Diaa Awad Kazem, said that the next month will witness the launch of a statistical survey to monitor and know the size of the labor force and the unemployed, and to identify indicators of unemployment that are increasing among young people.
    and graduates.
He added that the agency does not yet have accurate figures for these percentages, so the current survey will show rates that are closer to reality, and it is expected that they will vary from one governorate to another according to the educational level.
Kazem suggested that unemployment rates would rise compared to the last survey carried out by the agency in this regard in 2008, stressing at the same time that the country's general conditions are not appropriate to open up to global experiences in combating unemployment.
