Shafaq News / Arafat Karam, responsible for the Iraq file at the headquarters of the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, considered today, Monday, the position of the presidency of the Iraqi Republic an electoral entitlement for the people of Kurdistan, calling for the parliament of the region to be the "final arbiter" in the issue of selection as a "consensual solution."
"The position of President of the Republic is an electoral entitlement for the people of Kurdistan," Arafat Karam said, in a tweet on Twitter, followed by Shafak News Agency.
Karam added, "If you want a consensual solution, let the regional parliament be the final arbiter, so that we are not accused of obstructing the formation of the government."
Today, Monday, the Secretary-General of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, Qais al-Khazali, called on the Kurdish blocs to agree and settle their candidate for the post of President of the Republic, after the Shiite coordination framework agreed to nominate Muhammad Shia al-Sudani for the position of Prime Minister.
And earlier today, Monday, the coordination framework officially announced the selection of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani as a candidate for prime minister.
