On Tuesday, the US embassy in Baghdad called for the formation of a government that meets the aspirations of Iraqis and deals with the international environment.
A statement of the Iraqi Fiqh Council, a copy of which was received by Mawazine News, stated that the US ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, visited the Iraqi Fiqh Council at its headquarters in the Grand Imam Abu Hanifa al-Numan Mosque.
After his welcoming speech, a member of the Supreme Council of the complex, Abdul-Sattar Abdul-Jabbar, confirmed that Iraq has been suffering since 2003 grave challenges that continue to threaten its security and stability with violations of its sovereignty and human rights, adding that the country has been classified for years among the dangerous and backward countries.
He added that Iraq is going through a critical stage that requires concerted local and international efforts to overcome it, noting that the complex called on everyone to give priority to the national interest and to adopt constructive dialogue to get out of the crisis, calling on the developed countries, led by the United States of America, to contribute to presenting major projects for the development of Iraq at the service, health and economic levels. .
For her part, Ambassador Romanowski praised the complex's balanced stances and moderate rhetoric against extremism and violence, and that it has an accurate perception of the Iraqi scene and the serious steps it requires for its stability and prosperity, expressing her hope to form a national government capable of meeting the needs of the Iraqi people and dealing with the international environment.
