    In its statement, the party called on all Iraqi leaders to rise to the level of responsibility to save the country from imminent existential dangers

    Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - The Kurdistan Democratic Party has expressed its concern about the political crisis that Iraq is going through, and called on all parties to have a constructive dialogue to take the necessary steps to reform the situation in accordance with the constitutional contexts.
    The Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party said in a statement today, "The Kurdistan Democratic Party expresses its deep concern about the political crisis that Iraq is going through."
    The statement added, "Since the announcement of the results of the legislative elections that took place in October 2021 and the complications and interventions that followed to prevent the formation of the government in accordance with the constitutional contexts adopted in our political system, which led the country to this suffocating blockage."
    In its statement, the party called on all Iraqi leaders to rise to the level of responsibility to save the country from imminent existential dangers.
     
    Statement text
    The Kurdistan Democratic Party expresses its deep concern about the deepening political crisis that Iraq is going through.
    Since the announcement of the results of the legislative elections that took place in October 2021 and the complications and interventions that followed to prevent the formation of the government in accordance with the constitutional contexts adopted in our political system, which led the country to this suffocating blockage.
    Accordingly, we feel that all Iraqi leaders must rise to the level of responsibility to save the country from imminent existential dangers. Therefore, we call on all parties to a constructive dialogue to take the necessary steps to reform the situation in accordance with the constitutional contexts and in accordance with the outcomes of the constructive dialogue. In order to achieve the process of reform and change, it can be agreed to hold early elections, but before that, all participants must pledge to accept the final results as they are and not to repeat the experience of the past elections.
