    The Karbala Municipality Directorate announced, on Sunday, its service plan that it prepared on the occasion of the month of Muharram and the Ziyarat of Ashura.
    The municipality director, Hassan Al-Sharifi, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and reviewed by “Al-Eqtisad News”, that “the municipality directorate’s plan includes mobilizing its staff and its service and technical efforts during the month of Muharram and the Ashura visit.”
    He added, "The plan will start from the first night of the month of Muharram, when the flags of the domes of the shrines of the two Imams, Al-Hussain and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) are changed, in order to provide services to the visitors of the two holy shrines," indicating that "the directorate will participate with its fleet of vehicles, amounting to more than 496 vehicles, in addition to the waste bag factory, which produced approximately (10) tons of bags, and providing the necessary numbers and tools to facilitate the work of the sanitation workers, especially with the rise in temperatures."
    Al-Sharifi pointed out that “there is a new strategy followed by the municipality directorate, which includes dividing work meals into three meals, with a focus on the night meal by increasing the number of workers in it due to most of the Husseini processions going out at night to revive the rituals of the month of Muharram,” stressing that “the high temperatures prompted the municipality directorate to provide some equipment that protects the cleaning workers from the heat of the sun.”
    He pointed out that "the central workshop, the eight municipality sectors and the parks division are participating in the service plan, in addition to employing other cleaning workers to reinforce the staff, especially on the days of Tasu'a and Ashura, when the mourning ceremonies and the Tuwairij run are held," noting that "the service plan will continue after the visit of the tenth of Muharram until the thirteenth of it, which coincides with the anniversary of the burial ceremonies of the bodies and the well-known mourning of Bani Asad, while the plan will be updated daily according to the density of the number of visitors."
