    Economy News - Baghdad
The Housing Fund, affiliated with the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, clarified, on Saturday, regarding life insurance for borrowers.
The Ministry’s media center explained in a statement, which was reviewed by “Al-Eqtisad News”, “We would like to inform you that all Housing Fund loans are insured (i.e. covered by life insurance),” calling on “the relatives of the deceased borrower to visit the Fund’s departments in their governorates, within a maximum period of two months from the date of death, in order to extinguish the loan, provided that the borrower has paid the installments owed by him up to the month of his death. Otherwise, the Housing Fund Department is not responsible for compensating the remainder of the loan, in the event that the transaction is rejected by the insurance company, provided that the required documents below are brought: a death certificate and a copy of the civil status ID or the unified card.”
