The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafa Muhammad Karim, said on Wednesday that the absence of agreement on the formula for holding the Kurdistan Parliament elections led to their postponement until next March.
In an interview with Mawazine News, Karim said, "It was decided to postpone the region's elections to next March, due to the lack of agreement on the formula and law for conducting the elections yet."
And he indicated that "the dispute over the issue of the law is not known whether it is according to the multiple departments or not, and that the region depends on its own commission far from the center."
He added, "Both the Kurdistan Union, Change and Islamic movements all demand holding elections similar to the elections in Baghdad, and that the Democrat rejects the matter after the failure of the experiment in Baghdad." Ended 29/N33
