    The President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, received, Monday, at Al-Salam Palace in the capital, Baghdad, Minister of Water Resources Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, where they discussed water security and the challenges facing the country.
    In a statement received by Mawazine News, Saleh stressed that the water file is a top priority in the country and an integral part of national security, referring to the severe climatic changes that are plaguing the country, the region and the world, pointing to the need to continue the strategic plans developed in this regard and to initiate a recovery initiative. Mesopotamia, and that addressing climate change is a national priority.
    Saleh pointed to the importance of organizing water relations through dialogue with neighboring countries in accordance with the principles of good neighborliness and taking into account the interests of all without harming Iraq, praising the efforts of the government and the Ministry of Water Resources to address water scarcity, noting that securing water, protecting the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and facing the water risks facing the country is a collective responsibility.     Shafaq News/ The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed on Monday that water security is considered one of the Iraqi national security, calling on all state institutions to collectively participate in this file.
