    Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Justice announced voting on a set of decisions, including its proposed budget for 2023.
    A ministry statement said, "The Justice Council headed by Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani, and in the presence of council members, voted on a set of decisions during the third session of 2022."
    The statement added that "it was approved to activate the legal committee to follow up on international lawsuits brought by Iraq or against it, and to follow up on this file and to seek the assistance of international expertise to protect Iraqi funds."
    He pointed out that "the ministry's programs were voted on, according to what was stated in the government program and in a manner that ensures the development of the work of the judicial departments and the provision of services to citizens."
    The statement continued, "The proposed budget of the Ministry of Justice for the year 2023 was also voted on, in which the focus was on investment aspects such as building justice complexes to facilitate the provision of services to citizens and building new correctional departments commensurate with the protection of human rights."
    He pointed out that "a vote was taken to direct the investment of minors' funds towards the right area, and to discuss the amendment of the law on judicial fees in a manner that guarantees raising the amounts allocated to the Ministry's employees, in addition to reviewing and reviewing legislation related to the departments of the Ministry of Justice and inventorying laws that need to be amended or new legislation."
