Baghdad / Obelisk: The government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani is facing the challenge of addressing the issue of mobile phone companies in Iraq (Asia, Zain and Korek), and disengaging from influential parties that support them, in return for great material benefits.
The leader of the Wisdom Movement, Fadi Al-Shammari, opened the campaign of popular discontent with the phone companies, by saying that the services of the communication companies provide the worst communication and Internet services, especially in the last two years, indicating that the 4G service is a lie, as it is a poor service.
Al-Shammari added that this file, which has been engulfed in corruption for many years, and working to silence everyone who speaks about it with threats or temptation, must be opened and there will be a new evaluation of the work of companies and the level of services they provide, considering that mobile phone companies must pay their huge sums of money. .
The leader called for wisdom, the Prime Minister and the House of Representatives, to take harsh measures to curb the recklessness, persistence, and poor service of telecommunications companies and the Internet, as he put it.
Elite circles close to communications affairs talk about the hidden and servile relationship between communication companies and trustees in the Media and Communications Commission, as one of the main beneficiaries, as well as other influential parties, which makes the battle of corruption an intrusion into the forbidden.
The companies built a castle of mutual benefit in which the serving parties shared commissions, commissions, and shares in the imaginary profits from corrupt projects.
The former Parliamentary Services Committee had accused the beneficiaries of preventing the establishment of a national telecommunications company and placing obstacles despite the issuance of a parliamentary decision obligating them to establish the company, in order to keep the arena for the current communication companies and benefit from them.
An observer of Iraqi affairs, Saad Shaker, said on Twitter that mobile phone companies in Iraq practiced the largest theft of citizens when compared to service companies in other countries.
Activist Mohamed Kamel calls on the Prime Minister to oblige mobile phone companies to pay their taxes.
The obelisk monitored the calls of the Iraqis to the Ministry of Communications, to hold mobile phone companies accountable, and their services in terms of the level of service and prices, as these companies represent the worst in the world.
And on Twitter, the Iraqis created a poll that included the question: Will the new prime minister be able to open the file of mobile phone companies? (reconnaissance)?
And the economist Jacob Al-Khidr talks about that whoever follows the money that pays for mobile phone licenses in the region knows that if Iraq had re-offered those operating licenses for sale now, he would have obtained a few million dollars for each license!
