(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) explained an economist, the government's decision to disengage the oil companies of the Ministry of Oil, and the attachment to the National Oil Company.
Bassem Jamil Antoine told the Euphrates News that "the disengagement of these companies in order to start direct investment of oil and this is not within the jurisdiction of the ministry, but by this company in the exploration and extraction of oil, while the ministry is responsible for planning oil policy."
He stressed that "the need to enjoy the national oil company completely independent," noting that "the company was a subject of controversy in the previous regime, which linked the ministry to put his hand on all exploratory work and oil resources."
And Antoine, that "the National Oil Company when it was an independent entity, the former regime felt that its management of oil is weak and this is a push to cancel it."
He revealed "the idea of putting the company in the public subscription to be every Iraqi citizen shares and this is considered one of the steps to give wealth to the people."
According to a document of the company, it was decided to disengage the following companies: Oil Exploration Company, Oil Marketing Company (SOMO), Iraqi Drilling Company, Basra Oil Company, North Oil Company, Missan Oil Company, Central Oil Company, Dhi Qar Oil Company, Iraqi oil from the Ministry of Oil to the National Oil Company and transfer to it all the rights and obligations related to licensing tours. "
The Prime Minister Haider Abadi had previously commissioned Oil Minister Jabbar al-Allaibi as general manager of the National Oil Company.
