Baghdad / The National News Center
The Ambassador of the United States of America to Iraq, Elena Romanowski, today, Wednesday, identified the importance of the development goals grant agreement signed with Iraq, while noting that the agreement obliges it to provide 550 million dollars to Iraq over a period of five years.

Romansky said during a press conference held after the signing of the agreement, followed by the National News Center, "We are pleased to celebrate the launch of the first ever executive agreement for development, as this agreement is an unprecedented milestone for bilateral relations between the United States of America and Iraq," indicating that Our partnership reinforces our common goals of a more stable and prosperous Iraq that serves all its people.
She added, "The United States has been a consistent partner for Iraq since 2003, as it helped in the general stability of the country," noting that "under the executive agreement, Washington, through the US Agency for International Development, is obligated to provide approximately $550 million over the next five years to promote economic growth." Increasing citizens' confidence and participation in democratic governance, addressing the needs of marginalized and vulnerable populations, and addressing the effects of climate change.
And she continued, "The agreement will allow us to support the efforts of our Iraqi counterparts to meet the most urgent needs of this country, and it will allow both parties represented by the US Agency for International Development and the Iraqi Ministry of Planning to develop plans, set priorities, and ensure the long-term impact of our activities in our development assistance in the country," explaining that "the years of conflict It affected Iraq's ability to provide services and economic opportunities to all its citizens, and our common goal is to support economic growth in Iraq, strengthen democratic institutions, address climate change, and help the most vulnerable groups in the population.
And she stressed that "this agreement is the beginning of the cooperative relationship between the US Agency for International Development and the Ministry of Planning, and this is what we look forward to," pointing out that "the United States is still committed to strengthening bilateral relations, and we will continue to stand with Iraq and work together to increase stability and economic investment opportunities."
