In a statement received by Al-Sumaria, the General Assembly stated that it had "adopted the draft resolution entitled (International Day to Prevent Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism) submitted by Iraq in partnership with the brothers the State of Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Sultanate of Oman, under Items 14 and 121 of the Assembly's agenda.General Assembly at its seventy-seventh session.
She added, "The session was sponsored by 36 countries, and thus February 12 officially became the International Day to Prevent Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism."
