On Thursday, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers determined the mechanisms for distributing 500,000 plots of land to beneficiaries in Baghdad and the provinces.
A spokesman for the Municipality said in an interview with "Al-Ghad Press" agency, followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "among the ministerial program there is the distribution of 500,000 plots of land in Baghdad and the provinces to citizens," explaining that "the groups covered by these plots are the families of martyrs, social welfare and citizens." Other than employees who do not own residential homes.
And that "this step aims to expand the urban plan of the capital and the provinces and establish new cities," noting that "the Ministry of Construction and Housing will be a major player in this file and its completion."
And he continued, "The determination of the lands will be by the competent authorities, led by the Ministry of Construction and Housing," pointing to "the involvement of the private sector, which will establish the infrastructure for the lands in cooperation with Iraqi banks and the Central Bank."
And he added, "Iraqi banks will work to grant soft loans for the purpose of building the role in parallel with the Central Bank's initiative directed at citizens and investors in order to build the role at a low cost."
He pointed out that "the plots, their locations and areas will be determined through the Ministry of Housing and municipal departments in the governorates."
