Al-Monitor International Network considered, today, Saturday, that the return of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to the Iraqi political arena, and his abandonment of the period of isolation that he entered into months ago, after the withdrawal of his representatives from parliament, is imminent.
The network said in a report translated by (Baghdad Today), that "Al-Sadr appears, through the message that was issued through the unified Friday prayer, that he is trying to return to the political process again and activate his political activity again after the interruption period, driven by concern about the movements made by the coordination framework, An opportunity presented itself to him."
She explained that "Al-Sadr's moves to return to the political process coincide with reports of disagreements within the Dawa Party led by his rival, Nuri al-Maliki, in addition to the coordination framework."
Those differences, according to information obtained by Al-Monitor, led to "the withdrawal of 12 deputies from the framework and their direction towards establishing a new political bloc, which al-Sadr may try to exploit in the next few days."
Al-Sadr’s attempts to return to the political process, according to the network’s expectations, did not only come to exploit the current political differences between the coordination framework, but rather an attempt to “protect al-Sadr’s political influence by preventing the coordination framework and the Dawa Party from completely controlling state institutions after expelling its officials and replacing them with others close to the framework.” and its parties and the complete takeover of the deep state," with its description withdrawn.
She also added, "Another reason is Sadr's concern about the coordination framework changing the election law after taking control of the deep state and securing important positions after liquidating the rest of the Sadrist officials and replacing them with other frameworks."
