Health: {service quality} is the basis for selecting guarantee project institutions

The Ministry of Health has chosen the institutions that will work within the guarantee law, which is to be implemented during next July, indicating that the selection takes place according to the conditions of reliability and the quality of services provided by the institutions.
Accreditation is an assessment process for health care institutions in order to determine whether they meet a set of standards designed to improve service quality, and are important in enhancing patient safety and security by managing risks, including medical risks, and ensuring adherence to a high level of quality among service providers and urging Continuous quality improvement.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, told "Al-Sabah" on the sidelines of a workshop organized by the Health Insurance Authority under the title "The Role of Reliability in Determining the Criteria for Selecting Service Providers": The most important goals of the ministry lie in reforming the health system by providing effective and quality medical service to patients.
He added that one of the requirements for the implementation of the health insurance law is the accreditation of the institutions that will contract within the insurance fund, as we hope that they will be supportive and supportive of the implementation of this project.
And he indicated that there are great challenges in the health system that should be overcome in cooperation with the Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee to reach fruitful results.
Al-Hasnawi confirmed that the ministry is proceeding with logistical, administrative and technical procedures and issuing an invitation to companies that automate the information related to the guarantee, including the names of the auditors and their families, giving them an identity or a passport, and using the fingerprint system to distinguish them from others, while providing the digital window for service providers such as hospitals, doctors and pharmacies.
For his part, the head of the Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee, Majed Shankali, told Al-Sabah: The committee supports the implementation of health insurance, because it provides comprehensive health coverage for citizens with quality, effective and lower-cost services.
And he added that the evaluations indicate that the citizen bears 70 percent of the financial burdens of primary health care, and by applying the law it will be 30 percent less, indicating that Parliament is supportive of the Ministry of Health and assessing its performance during the next stage.
In turn, the Director of Oversight and Audit, the official spokesperson for the Health Insurance Authority, Dr. Ehab Abdel-Karim Khalaf, told Al-Sabah: The main objective of the insurance project is to provide health services within quality standards by looking at international experiences and achieving them through a network of service providers, indicating that The next few years will witness the announcement of the selection of joint hospitals, pharmacies and laboratories within the project.
For his part, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Saif Al-Badr, explained to "Al-Sabah" that any health system cannot be developed if the philosophy of providing health services is not reviewed, the most important of which is health insurance, which is a basic priority for government action, especially after the Prime Minister announced his daily follow-up to the application.
