    Shafaq News/ The Undersecretary for Liquidation Affairs, Hamed Younes, affirmed, on Sunday, the Ministry of Oil's keenness to support projects to increase the production capacity of Iraqi refineries and improve the quality of oil products according to European standards (Euro 5).
    This came during his chairmanship of the leadership meeting of the liquidation sector, in the presence of a number of directors of companies and departments of the ministry and an elite group of engineering and technical personnel, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Oil today.



    The statement quoted Yunus as saying that the ministry, within its plans, is continuing with projects to develop the infrastructure for the refining sector, in addition to building a number of units for improving all oil products, including gasoline.
    He pointed out that the southern refineries will witness during the coming period the implementation of a number of projects to develop and rehabilitate the units of Al-Zamra and improve the gasoline, and install new units for the catalyst cracking complex (FCC) in cooperation with a solid Japanese company, and it is considered the first in Iraq, and it has the technology to raise the efficiency and energy of the products. Al-Bayda from refinery waste and with high quality, indicating that the FCC project aims to provide high-quality oil products according to European specifications (Euro 5), as the project works to produce oil products with high added value such as gasoline and diesel according to standard specifications and standards environmental.
    The meeting also discussed future plans and targeted projects of economic feasibility that the national effort companies are working on in order to achieve the desired goals, with the need to pay attention to the level of services provided by companies in various fields, and work to find appropriate solutions to the obstacles that may hinder work according to the planned timelines to serve the public interest.
