Today, Wednesday, President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid stressed the importance of resolving issues and demands peacefully under the roof of the constitution.
And a statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by (Al-Oula News), stated that “The President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, at the Baghdad Palace, a delegation representing a group of demonstrators.”
Rashid stressed, according to the statement, that “peaceful demonstration is a right approved by the constitution for every citizen, and it is the national duty to listen to the demands of our people and strive hard to meet them in a way that provides them with a decent and safe life,” pointing to “the importance of resolving issues in a peaceful way and under the roof of the constitution and laws.”
And he stressed "the need to focus on security and stability, especially since Iraq is a rich country with resources and capabilities, and the Iraqis have borne great and difficult consequences as a result of the conditions and circumstances that they have experienced in the past decades of violence and terrorism."
In turn, the delegation expressed its “thanks and appreciation for the position of the president, which led to a speedy response to their demands,” noting that “the protector of the constitution opens its doors to the demonstrators.”
The delegation expressed its "great confidence in the President to adopt their demands and obtain their rights," pointing out that "the Presidency of the Republic is working to address the concerns and suffering of the people and is making more efforts to redress them."
