Shafaq News/ The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah, said that Kuwait and Iraq will hold a round of legal and technical talks today, Sunday, as part of their efforts to end the issue of demarcating the maritime borders.
Reuters quoted the foreign minister as saying that the two sides will hold talks, expressing his hope that progress will be made.

"It is a top priority for my government and we are working with Iraq to finalize the demarcation of those maritime borders," he added.
The land borders between the two countries were demarcated by the United Nations in the year 1993 after Iraq invaded Kuwait, but it did not cover the length of their maritime borders, and this matter was left to the oil producers to resolve.
