Baghdad / The Obelisk: The Obelisk publishes the most important of what was stated in the speech of the Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, during the signing ceremony of the fifth licensing round. A final signature:
We congratulate everyone on the final signing of the contracts for the fifth round, which has been long overdue for five years, and whose delay has cost Iraq millions of dollars and negative environmental damage to citizens.
    – The Cabinet’s decision for this year was based on the recommendation of the Ministerial Energy Council, and in confirmation of what was included in the government program to allocate an axis for associated gas investment according to our vision of economic reform.
    - Reform in the oil sector is the optimal investment of oil wealth, and Iraq's entry into the global gas market is an option that we planned for and will be implemented.
The abnormal situation cannot continue with the burning of gas, which wastes wealth and affects the environment.
One of the main reasons for the electricity crisis is the lack of fuel.
We import gas at a cost of 10 trillion dinars annually, and Iraq today imports even oil derivatives, although it is an oil producer and exporter.
We will work to sign contracts for the construction and investment of refineries.
We will reach self-sufficiency in gas within 3 years to cover all our needs.
All our foreign visits and meetings emphasized the investment of associated gas.
    – We are waiting for the Ministry of Oil to prepare the remainder of the fifth round, and to prepare the sixth round to invest all our patches and fields in this wealth, whether associated gas or natural gas.
    – Our directives to the Ministry of Oil are to work with confidence and adhere to its decisions, and not to listen to the skeptical voices that hinder the investment of this wealth, and the government supports you in making decisions.
    – We all hope for the brothers in the Parliamentary Energy Committee to support and support the Ministry of Oil and the success of its plans in implementing these important projects.
We are in a transitional phase by shifting from total dependence on oil revenues to diversifying sources of income.
    – This stage depends on the activity of the Ministry of Oil in implementing its projects and providing the government with financial revenues to advance the economic sectors.
    – We confirm the government's commitment to the companies that won these contracts to secure and provide work requirements and requirements, in various security, administrative and legal fields.
We are about to sign projects and announce important projects in the field of services, housing, development and industry sectors.
There are technical, administrative and legal teams working day and night to fulfill the requirements of these projects, which will be an important factor in implementing our government program and achieving economic reform.
The Ministry of Oil celebrated the final signing of the contracts for the fifth licensing round, related to border blocks and fields, in the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani.
Obelisk publishes the text of the statement:
In the presence of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani, the final signing ceremony of the contracts for the fifth licensing round, related to the border blocks and fields, took place today at the Ministry of Oil.
During a speech he delivered at the ceremony, His Excellency pointed out that the implementation of the fifth licensing round was delayed for 5 years, causing great losses and unfortunate environmental damage to Iraq.
His Excellency also stressed that the trend towards investment in associated gas and natural gas stems from a firm conviction, in order to achieve economic reforms, which constitute a fundamental axis in the government program.
