[size=45]Today, Tuesday, employees in Dhi Qar, southern Iraq, revealed that the lands that were recently distributed to them by the local government in the governorate have turned into “dirt quarries and private farms,” noting that the executive and security authorities are unable to take a clear decision to deter these abuses, while they described the matter as "A great disaster."[/size]
[size=45]And the employees were informed that "District 281 was transferred from financial and agricultural status to the property of the Directorate's disbursement, the municipality of Nasiriyah, where 5356 dunums were transferred and distributed to the employees, including 4817 plots of land for the Health Department, more than 3 thousand for the interior, the injured and the rest of the departments," they pointed out. That “these meals were distributed in 2021, that is, two years ago now.”[/size]
[size=45]And they added, “When we started moving to issue it through official books, we did not find any cooperation in that, and at that time there was no encroachment on the district, as well as a municipality that was not administratively stable due to the frequent change of directors.” And they continued, “With the arrival of the current director of the municipality, we were able to take him out with us to conduct an inspection on the county for the purpose of sorting it out, and we were surprised by the great disaster that befell us, which is that our county has turned into earthen quarries and buildings, in which farms and houses were overtaken.”[/size]
[size=45]They pointed out that “their contact with the police did not work because they are asking for names, and this cannot be because the case becomes tribal, and the local government has a ambiguous position towards the transgressors, and therefore we cannot move on our own towards this matter unless we see the seriousness of the provincial government in fighting the transgressors.” That “District 281 is within the borders of the municipality of Nasiriyah and has been approved since 2008 within the modern design of the city of the governorate center.”[/size]
