    Today, Tuesday, the Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) revealed the size of the losses of Iraqi oil exports in the port of Ceyhan following the earthquake in Turkey, while confirming the quest to find new outlets for transporting and selling Iraqi oil.
    The general manager of the company, Alaa Al-Yasiri, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "according to the book of the North Oil Company No. A/51/41-5/88180 on 02/15/2023, there is a quantity of crude oil spilled from the ceilings of the North Oil Company's tanks." In the port of Ceyhan, as a result of the earthquake, it was estimated at (4,823) barrels, which is considered a wasted amount due to force majeure.
    He pointed out that "the quantity of exports planned for February 2023 was not affected by the presence of storages of Kirkuk crude oil in the tanks of the North Oil Company in the port of Ceyhan, where pumping resumed from the Saralu station towards the Turkish port of Ceyhan on 02/10/2023, a few days after the accident." earthquake".
    On the diversity of outlets for the transfer and sale of Iraqi oil, Al-Yasiri stressed that "the Ministry of Oil is working to adopt an effective strategy for the goals of the government program that leads to achieving the ministry's plans and strategic goals represented in preserving oil resources and optimal use of them and developing them according to best practices to ensure their sustainability and strengthen the national economy in production." and marketing.”
    And he indicated that "SOMO Oil Marketing Company seeks to expand the horizons of dealing in the global oil market and find new mechanisms by taking studied steps for the feasibility of adopting marketing projects that would give many marketing flexibility and dispose of the produced quantities of Iraqi crude oils intended for export and ensure a permanent demand." On Iraqi oil in the global markets, maximizing resources as much as possible, and supporting the national economy, and work is underway to find new outlets that achieve the desired goals.
