    Economy News - Baghdad
The head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, said today, Sunday, that the committee concerned with amending the salary scale is studying and maturing it.
Al-Atwani added that the salary scale law "is now in the custody of the Economic Study Committee, which is studying the negative aspects and its impact on the market, and after it passes, the Council of Ministers will be able to vote on it," continuing: "If the scale needs legislation, the Council of Ministers will submit the draft of the proposed law to Parliament." .
Al-Atwani denied, "The intersection of peace with previous laws enacted by Parliament, so it will be possible to raise it to obtain approval for the amendment," noting that "the law may be able to proceed smoothly from the Council of Ministers because it is one of the powers of the executive authority without the need for Parliament."
He pointed out that "the proposed law aims to do justice to the lower grades of employees with very small salaries that do not cover their daily needs," pointing out that "the draft proposal is without exceptions because it is a ladder for all state employees from the tenth grade and above," according to the official newspaper.
He noted that "the issue of allocations and the risk is due to the estimates of the concerned ministry, because peace is concerned with the nominal salary, but the allocations are within the authority of the Council of Ministers, and it is the one who can maintain or raise them."
Regarding the budget and the salary scale, Al-Atwani indicated that "the subject scale differs from the budget and its law is separate. Parliament is proceeding with enacting the federal budget law, and in the event that the salary scale is approved, the government is concerned with adapting the issue and achieving a balance between the two laws."
