Earth News/ A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Subhi al-Mandalawi, confirmed today, Monday, that the differences between Baghdad and Erbil will end soon, after the agreement reached between the two governments to resolve all controversial issues, explaining that the issue of the budget has been resolved and approved, and the proportion of the Kurdistan region has been determined.
Al-Mandalawi said in a statement to Earth News that “when Al-Sudani visited the Kurdistan region and met with the leaders of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the presidency of the region and Masoud Barzani, he announced that a comprehensive agreement had been reached on all controversial issues,” noting that “the issue of the budget was resolved and approved, and the percentage of the region was determined Kurdistan, and now it was presented to the parliament, and therefore the decision or legislation for the budget is through the Iraqi parliament, and there is a suitable ground for passing the budget.”
And he continued, "On the other hand, it was agreed on the issue of legislation of the oil and gas law, and therefore discussions are continuing on this valuable issue, and there is no doubt that Iraq needs a law that regulates the issue of energy, and there is a major defect in all previous Iraqi governments by not legislating this law, numbering the demands of the Kurds in that." Therefore, today is perhaps the appropriate ground for passing this project, and this also came through a road map that was developed when forming the Sudanese government, according to the state alliance agreement.
He explained, "As for other controversial issues, such as the issue of implementing the Sinjar Agreement, the Peshmerga, and the application of Article 140, this constitutional article, which was deliberately not applied throughout the past years, although it is a constitutional article, and the Federal Court recognized the necessity of implementing this article, and therefore today, too, perhaps things are going on by melting all differences and reaching zero crises with Baghdad is in and this is in the interest of all Iraqis.”
