    [rtl]Baghdad - Iraq today:

    US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed that his country is working for a secure, stable and sovereign Iraq.[/rtl]

    [rtl]And the Kurdistan Regional Presidency stated, in a statement, that "the President of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, received a letter from US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, thanking him for receiving and welcoming him when he visited Erbil on the seventh of March. "[/rtl]
    [rtl]And the presidency added, "Austin wrote in the letter about his visit to Erbil, saying: It was a pleasure to stress the strength and importance of the partnership between America and the Kurdistan region of Iraq."[/rtl]
    [rtl]In his message, Austin indicated that he "appreciated the talks that took place on the joint commitment of the two sides to the final elimination of ISIS," stressing the "necessity of continuous cooperation between America and the Kurdistan region, in coordination with Baghdad, for a secure, stable, and sovereign Iraq.”[/rtl]
    [rtl]He praised "the role of the President of the Kurdistan Region in managing the process of organizing and reforming the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs on the basis of the joint memorandum of understanding between the Pentagon and the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs in the Kurdistan Regional Government."[/rtl]
    [rtl]He pointed out his country's desire "to continue joint work and partnership with the Kurdistan region."[/rtl]
