    Information/Baghdad..
Today, Sunday, the representative of Basra Governorate, Intisar Hassan Al-Musawi, called on the government and parliament to grant additional financial allocations to address the salinity and water shortage in the province.
Al-Moussawi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma agency, “The representatives of Basra governorate will present their proposals to the government and the Parliamentary Finance Committee regarding providing financial allocations for the construction of a large dam on the Shatt al-Arab to maintain sufficient water reserves."
She added, "Basra Governorate needs quick solutions to address the salinity of the water and the salty tongue and prevent its expansion, which it has long suffered from for years in light of the decline in water flow from Turkey."
Al-Moussawi indicated that "the degree of water salinity in Basra governorate has reached a very high degree, and it increases gradually with the rise in temperatures during the current summer." Ended / 25 BC
