The head of the Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, met in the capital, Amman, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and exchanged views on developments in the political scene in the region and the relationship between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
A statement from the office of the head of the al-Hikma movement said that al-Hakim "praised the distinguished relations between the two countries," stressing "the importance of moving forward with strengthening them in various areas of common interest that will benefit the peoples of the two countries."
Al-Hakim called, according to the statement, "to activate the tripartite cooperation mechanism that includes sister Egypt," expressing "his happiness for the steps taken by the region's leaders to end the conflict in it and turn the page on tension."
Al-Hakim pointed out, according to his office, "the importance of investing in the current stability in the region to eliminate the remaining crises, and to deal with complete care for the common interests between the various countries of the region in order to achieve the goals of development and prosperity for our generous people."
He affirmed his "categorical rejection and condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces' attacks on our brothers in Jerusalem," noting "the importance of the historical Jordanian role in managing the file of the holy Islamic endowments in Jerusalem and the need for its continuation and strengthening."
