    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Saturday, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafaa Muhammad Karim, blamed the National Oil Company "SOMO" for the financial losses due to the cessation of oil exports from the region.
Karim told (Baghdad Today) that "Turkey is the one who refuses to resume oil exports until the second complaint submitted by the Ministry of Oil against Ankara is resolved, and also in an attempt to cancel the sums imposed on it by the arbitration tribunal in Paris."
He added that "the Ministry of Oil and" SOMO "promised to find alternative solutions to stop exporting oil from the region, either by exporting it through Basra or from Syria via the sea, or using it in refineries for derivatives, to stop the daily waste and financial losses, and also as a means of pressure on Turkey, which will suffer losses if it accepts ( Sumo) on this matter.
He pointed out that "the region is committed to the agreement, and therefore Baghdad, represented by (SOMO), is the one that bears the losses, and the entire budget will be sent to Kurdistan."
The export of oil had actually stopped when the arbitral tribunal of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris issued a ruling in favor of Baghdad stipulating that the Kurdistan region stop exporting oil through Turkey due to the lack of permission from Baghdad.
While the federal government in Baghdad signed a final agreement with the Erbil government stipulating that Baghdad assume full supervision over the export of oil from the region's fields, which allows the resumption of oil export again through the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
