, Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani affirmed, on Wednesday, the ministry's keenness to increase crude oil production rates and invest associated gas from the East Baghdad field - the southern part.
Abdul-Ghani said, during an inspection field visit to the eastern Baghdad field - the southern part in the Nahrawan and Suwayra regions, according to a statement received by Mawazine News, that "this field visit comes within the framework of following up projects to increase production and invest gas from this field, which is one of the largest fields." Oil is an area, its current production rate is (30 thousand barrels) per day, and the peak production under the contract concluded with the Chinese company (ABS) in 2018 is to reach a production rate of (40 thousand barrels) per day, but the Ministry plans to increase it to more than (80 thousand barrels per day), and dry gas to (50 cubic metres).
Abdel-Ghani pointed out that "one of the most important goals of developing and increasing production from this field is to supply the Jerusalem and Zubaydiyah power stations with good quantities of crude oil and dry gas for the Bismayah power station." Ended 29/N33
