The Ministry of Commerce announced the launch of the electronic blocking application within the ration card automation project on the search engine (Google).
A statement by the ministry, which was received by (Baghdad Today), stated that "and in implementation of the paragraphs of the government program by applying the poverty alleviation strategy by targeting the eligible segments of the ration system, the Planning and Follow-up Department, in cooperation with the United Nations World Food Program, announces the launch of electronic applications for the ration card automation project."
The statement quoted the director general of the department, Ibtihal Hashman, as saying, “The department learned about the ration card automation project through the issuance of the electronic ration card and the issuance of electronic applications related to it to find out the real numbers of beneficiaries from the ration card system in order to correct them to the groups of society who are eligible for it and from the classes.” middle and poor.”
He added, "In order to start automating the ration card and within the catering program, the electronic application (self-blocking), which is one of the activities of the program, is announced on Google's website to be available to all."
The statement called on "citizens who illegally benefited from the items of the food basket and flour to cooperate and expedite withholding their share through this application."
He pointed out that "citizens who do not need the items of the food basket and flour can also cooperate by entering the application and withholding their share for the purpose of directing it to poor families to benefit from it."
At the same time, the statement stressed that "the period of reporting to citizens who benefit from the items of the food basket and flour material, contrary to the instructions, is considered a period of amnesty, so they must hurry and use it to serve the public interest.
