    On Friday, the Ministry of Electricity recommended investing the Mansouriya fields in Diyala and Akkas in Anbar gas to invest their production in power generation in support of the national system.
    The Director General of the General Company for Electric Power Production for the Central Region, Ali Ahmed, told the official news agency, "The Mansouriya gas station in Diyala has been installed, installed, and operated to consume the explored gas in the Mansouriya gas field, whose production is estimated at 300 cubic metres, but the production stopped because of the terrorist ISIS gangs and from It is possible to return it to work with new rehabilitation processes, such as through licensing rounds.”
    He added, "The national gas in Iraq is mostly gas associated with oil extraction operations, and what is currently produced from gas is not sufficient to operate the stations in the northern, central and southern regions, and it must be imported, and in return the government has concluded contracts to invest associated gas to secure the local need and reduce the need for import."
    And he continued, "There are fields that stopped working as a result of ISIS terrorist gangs, such as the crutch field in Anbar Governorate, which, along with other discoveries within the geographical area, could secure the production of 450 cubic meters per day after being invested and rehabilitated, and this amount secures the generation of 1300 megawatts per day of energy."
    He pointed out that "there are units that have been installed on the crutch field line, namely the crutch field and the Anbar complex station, which consists of 4 units, and it can rise to 8 units after investing the remaining free gas fields in the crutch field."
    He continued, "Iraq imports daily, at the present time, between 30-40 million cubic meters of Iranian gas to operate the central and southern gas stations, and its current investments in the oil fields in the Akkas and Mansouriya fields to stop the burning of associated gas can secure large quantities for the local need."
