In a sign that the crisis will not be resolved soon, giant tankers left after stopping for more than a month near Turkish pipelines, waiting to load Iraqi Kurdistan oil, to no avail.
Today, Monday, April 24, the tankers "Neverland" and "Amax" left the area near the pipeline station in Turkey, which experts considered an indication that oil will not flow soon from the region, in light of the crisis between the concerned governments, according to what was reported by Bloomberg.
The two tankers failed to obtain any quantities of Iraqi Kurdistan oil, while there are still 3 tankers parked in the hope of obtaining Kurdish crude near the port, according to Bloomberg data on ship movements.
It is noteworthy that the 5 tankers that were waiting to load Iraqi Kurdistan oil were chartered with the aim of transporting about 4 million barrels of crude, after announcing that the countries concerned were approaching a solution to the crisis between them, according to information seen by the specialized energy platform.
The crisis of suspending Iraqi oil flows from Kurdistan and Kirkuk through the Turkish port of Ceyhan has been going on for more than a month, while Turkey is waiting to solve the remaining problems represented by Iraq’s request for compensation, in addition to SOMO’s unwillingness to complete the technical preparations to resume export according to developments and new agreements.

    Economy News-Baghdad
After stopping for more than a month waiting for Iraqi Kurdistan's oil to be loaded, supertankers left the area near Turkish pipelines, signaling a delay in the flow of supplies from the region.
Today, Monday, April 24 (2023), the tankers "Neverland" and "Amax" left the area near the pipeline station in Turkey, which experts considered an indication that oil will not flow close to the region, in light of the crisis between the concerned governments, According to what was reported by Bloomberg.
The two tankers failed to obtain any quantities of Iraqi Kurdistan oil, while there are still 3 tankers parked, hoping to obtain Kurdish crude, near the port, according to Bloomberg data on ship movements.
The Iraqi government has been demanding that it become the sole owner of the right to sell Iraqi Kurdistan's oil and obtain the proceeds of any crude produced on its territory, for more than a decade; So I objected to the sale of the territory to the last production of oil.
At the same time, Turkey stopped pipeline flows from the northern fields on March 25, 2023, after an international arbitration court ruled that it should pay about $1.5 billion in compensation to Iraq for facilitating sales of the region's oil exports through the Turkish Ceyhan pipelines.
The absence of up to 450,000 barrels per day of the region’s oil, sold through the Turkish Ceyhan pipeline, reduced supplies destined for Europe, before the markets witnessed further cuts, with the announcement of the main producers in OPEC and the OPEC + alliance an additional cut in production.
Experts expect that the time to stop exporting Iraqi Kurdistan's oil will take a long time until the settlement of the dispute over sales and payments proceeds between Iraq, the semi-autonomous region and Turkey, according to information seen by the specialized energy platform.
Iraq, the second largest producer in OPEC, exports crude oil from the northern fields through a pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan on the Mediterranean Sea.
