Committee member Ali Saadoun al-Lami told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "increasing the production of black oil and other oil derivatives needs new refineries in Iraq," noting that "our current refineries are insufficient and unable to produce oil derivatives to meet Iraq's need."
And he continued, "The committee hosted two days ago the director general of the central and northern refineries, and we talked about budget allocations to advance the status of refineries in order to activate the domestic product of oil derivatives," explaining that "the investment refineries that were announced two months ago did not see the light, because there is a law that needs to be amended, which is The investment law in the oil refining sector (refineries), and we agreed to amend it in order for the investment wheel to spin in this field.[/size]
