A member of the Parliamentary Transportation and Communications Committee, Zuhair Shahid Al-Fatlawi, stressed on Sunday the need to amend the investment law to attract international companies working in the information and communication technology sector.
Al-Fatlawi said in a press interview seen by “Takadam” that “the current investment law does not encourage attracting foreign investment, and it is necessary to work in advanced ways and appropriate conditions and provide suitable climates to attract capital to develop infrastructure and introduce modern technology into the country.”
He added, "Iraq has large and diverse investment opportunities," stressing that "the mechanism for foreign investment flow is still weak as a result of not approving a solid investment law that would attract capital, especially in the information and communication technology sector."
