Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Ammar Hamad Khalaf, received a high-ranking German delegation headed by Volker Uehle, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, accompanied by Chargé d'Affaires of the German Embassy in Baghdad, Margarete Jacob.
A statement to the Central Bank media stated, "The meeting, which included a group of general managers and specialists in the Central Bank of Iraq, discussed the most important economic, financial and monetary developments in Iraq, and the extent of the Iraqi Central Bank's response in achieving economic balance and stability."
The meeting also discussed "economic and technical aspects related to cooperation with the German side, including the provision of advisory services through the (GIZ) organization, and the projects that the organization manages in cooperation with this bank."
