    [rtl]Baghdad-Iraq today:

A group of people and spectra of Iraqi society in Basra Governorate called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to intervene in the issue of demarcating the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border, criticizing what they described as " unfair decisions" of the UN Security Council against Iraq and its people.

The text of the letter stated: “It is not hidden from you the negative effects left by Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990 on the two countries, Iraq and Kuwait in particular, and on the Middle East and the world in general, although the former The Iraqi regime committed a lot of foolishness towards its people and towards neighboring countries, but it found the justification he was relying on regarding his entry into Kuwaiti lands, including Kuwait's intention to increase its oil production in order to reduce its selling price, which negatively It affected the Iraqi economy, which emerged mired in debt from the Iraq-Iran war, in addition to accusing the Iraqi regime at the time of Kuwait of encroaching on Iraqi and nearby oil wells. from the Kuwaiti border.

She added, “The problem of demarcating the borders between Iraq and Kuwait is an eternal problem that is more than 100 years old, and it must be resolved legally by giving the right to its owners and by guaranteeing the integrity of the two lands.” countries without encroaching on the other according to the real borders that everyone knows and is established within the old international maps, and not on the basis of force and according to what was imposed by the war and brought unfair decisions by the UN Security Council against Iraq and its people. And

she considered that “the imposition of wills by force can be carried out and applied, but for a limited period, as it will not last long, until the problem arises again.”

And she continued: "Just as Kuwait and its people were victims of Saddam Hussein, so the Iraqi people were, and rejected Saddam's reckless policy, and the best evidence for the uprising of most of the people immediately after the end of the war with Kuwait .”

And she added, "We do not forget the historical relations between the people of the two fraternal peoples in Iraq and Kuwait, especially between the people of Basra and the Kuwaiti people, where we note that most of the clans are conservative."

According to the letter, "Basra has an extension inside Kuwait and vice versa, in addition to intermarriage between Basrans and Kuwaitis."

The letter demanded, from the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and through him the UN Security Council, to “reconsider UN Security Council Resolution No. 833 issued in 1993, as it is an unfair decision against Iraq and its people, and to issue a new decision to demarcate the Iraqi-Kuwaiti borders according to previous international maps,” calling on the official. The United Nations to "visit Kuwait to give advice to the brothers in the State of Kuwait so that they respond to the demands."

Officials in Iraq and Kuwait are engaged in border demarcation negotiations through a joint committee, but this effort collides with political skepticism regarding allegations that Iraq ceded part of its territory to Kuwait, despite the official denial.

And the representative of the “Sadiqoon” bloc, Ahmed Al-Musawi, confirms, in statements reported by his bloc’s media, that “the former foreign minister, Hoshyar Zebari, is one of the figures accused of collusion with the Kuwaiti side,” he said.

The deputy, who belongs to the bloc representing the “Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq” movement led by Qais Khazali, in parliament, indicated that “there is no citizen or official who feels responsible for giving up the land of Iraq, whether it is is in Basra, Anbar, Mosul, or even if it is in the Kurdistan region.” .

And he stated, "The evidence is what happened in 2014 and what the Iraqi people did by defending their lands. The son of Basra, when he went to Mosul to fight until he was martyred, he does not own land there, but the land is Iraqi land.”

And he indicated that “no one can turn a blind eye to this file or tolerate it,” adding: “I am talking about officials or deputies. Unfortunately, there are personal relations with the Kuwaiti side at the expense of the public interest.”[/rtl]
