[rtl]Baghdad-Iraq today:[/rtl]
[rtl]Amnesty International has called on the authorities in the region to release activists Shervan Sherwani and Kohdar Zebari as soon as possible.[/rtl]
[rtl]And Amnesty International issued a press statement, of which Iraq Today received a copy, that "activists in Badinan Shervan Sherwani and Kohdar Zebari have been detained since October 2020.[/rtl]
[rtl]The statement added that the journalists, Sherwani and Zebari, who have been imprisoned in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq since October 2020, are facing new charges, adding that Kohdar Zebari is scheduled to be released on August 16, but he was informed of the same day that he is accused of committing another crime.[/rtl]
[rtl]The statement confirmed, “Sherwan Sherwani is scheduled to be released on September 9, but the court sentenced him on July 20 to an additional three years in prison, explaining that the Erbil Criminal Court initially sentenced the journalists to six years in prison in February.” 2021" with three activists.[/rtl]
[rtl]The three activists were also released on March 16, 2023, and Zebari and Shervan should be released immediately.[/rtl]
