Iraq appreciates Türkiye's interaction with the "Development Path" project

Iraq appreciated Turkey's serious interaction with the international strategic "Development Road" project, stressing at the same time the importance of Turkish companies working in many economic sectors and investing in many promising opportunities in the country.
This came during the reception of the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, yesterday, Tuesday, the Turkish Minister of Trade, Omer Polat, in the presence of the Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic stated that Rashid stressed, during the meeting, the importance of strengthening the relations between the two countries in various fields, especially economic, trade and environmental, and developing them in order to achieve common interests. security and stability for the two countries.
The President of the Republic also stressed the importance of the work of Turkish companies in many economic sectors and cooperation in the industrial fields, especially in rehabilitating Iraqi laboratories and factories, strengthening trade between the two countries, and benefiting from investment opportunities in Iraq.
For his part, Minister Omar Polat said that his country is keen to consolidate bilateral relations with Iraq in various fields and work to resolve outstanding issues through dialogue, noting that Iraq is an important center in trade for Turkey.
The Prime Minister also received Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, the Turkish Minister of Trade.
A statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office stated that Al-Sudani stressed, during the meeting, the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries, which have long historical relations, appreciating the serious Turkish interaction with the "Development Path" project.
He explained that the government's policy is to develop economic relations, and that Iraq, with its human and natural resources, is capable of being a point of communication, and a region of development and partnership for all neighboring countries.
For his part, the Turkish minister affirmed the seriousness and keenness of his country's government in supporting the "Development Road" project, which it considers an important path for global trade, in addition to its importance to trade between Iraq and Turkey.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani also received a group of Turkish businessmen, in the presence of Turkish Minister of Trade Omar Polat, explaining to the guest delegation the facilities and reforms provided by the Iraqi government to improve the business and investment environment in Iraq.
Al-Sudani praised the Turkish companies and their ability to achieve development, and their contribution to the reconstruction of infrastructure in Iraq, and the completion of the “Development Road” project, referring to the “Iraq Development Fund” project after its approval in the budget law, and what it constitutes of a new experience and philosophy in the economy that depends on the involvement of the private sector. In the construction of infrastructure and services, and the government's provision of sovereign guarantees for industrial and agricultural projects.
The Turkish Minister of Trade Omar Polat arrived in Baghdad yesterday, Tuesday, where he held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim, which dealt with all issues related to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, while the two sides stressed the importance of increasing the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey.
Yesterday, Tuesday, the Ministry of Commerce announced an agreement with the Turkish side to activate the joint committees and agreements signed between them, overcome obstacles, increase the volume of trade exchange, and promote joint investments. This came during a joint meeting between the Ministry of Commerce, the Iraqi private sector, and the Turkish delegation.
During the meeting, Minister of Commerce Atheer Al-Ghurairy confirmed that there is a directive from the Prime Minister to overcome all obstacles that stand in the way of developing trade, economic and investment relations with the Turkish side, and to provide a business environment and increase the volume of trade exchange for broad horizons that translate into reality and serve common interests.
