Today, Sunday, the Federal Integrity Commission announced the summoning of the former director of Samawah municipality and 5 defendants.
The Commission’s Investigation Department stated in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that “based on the seizure process that was carried out by the staff of the Samawah Investigation Office, in the case of members of the Land Allocation Committee in the Samawah Municipality Directorate allocating a piece of land, in violation of the law, a judge issued The Integrity Investigation Court in Al-Muthanna is a summons order against the (6) accused members of the committee, among them the former director of the Samawah municipality and the official in charge of the property division in the municipality.
She added, "The office's work team revealed that the municipality's directorate had estimated the value of a property at a price much lower than the prevailing prices," indicating that "the municipality concluded a musataha contract with a citizen for a period of twenty-five years, and the value of the property was estimated by the municipality's valuation committee at an amount of (4,250,000) Dinar".
She pointed out that "this led to a waste of public money amounting to (1,768,075,600) dinars."
