On Wednesday evening, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, who confirmed in the meeting that his country “will not tolerate” the presence of Iranian Kurdish armed groups on its borders or inside Iraq.
The Iranian President stressed, according to the Iranian Presidency website, the need for Baghdad to fully implement the security agreement concluded between the two countries regarding those Kurdish opposition groups.
For his part, the Iraqi Foreign Minister said during the meeting that “the ongoing meetings of diplomatic delegations and senior officials between the two countries are evidence of the strength of the developing relations between them.”
The Iranian presidency website stated that Hussein submitted a report on his country’s implementation of the agreements with Tehran, including the security agreement, stressing that the Iraqi government is committed to it and will not allow any group to use Iraqi lands to attack neighboring countries, especially Iran, or to reside on these lands.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister arrived in Tehran on Wednesday morning and held a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdullahian.
In a joint press conference, the Iranian minister referred to Iraq’s implementation of the terms of the security agreement and said that “its next stages will also be implemented in the coming days,” noting that Iranian-Iraqi relations “are witnessing good progress in all their dimensions,” pointing to the start of implementation of the railway link project between the two countries. From Shalmjah area to Basra.
For his part, the Iraqi Foreign Minister said that security cooperation between Iraq and Iran is based on the Iraqi constitution, adding that this constitution “does not allow any group of Iraqi lands to be exploited to attack other countries.”
He continued that members of groups opposed to Iran will be transferred to camps under the supervision of the United Nations, stressing that his country seeks to disarm Iranian opponents in Iraq.
The Commander of the Revolutionary Guard responded to the Mossad’s threats.
On the other hand, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, General Hossein Salami, responded to the threats of the Israeli Mossad’s head, David Barnea, to assassinate Iranian leaders in the heart of Tehran.
Salami said, directing his words to the leaders of the Israeli occupation: “If the previous assassinations have increased your security, then continue them, but know that if the atmosphere between us and you becomes security, then we will be in a stronger position and your lifespan will become shorter.”
The commander of the Iranian Guard continued, “The Zionists are suffering from multiple problems, and the horizon of their demise is beginning to appear,” adding, “The enemies can no longer speak to us in the language of military intimidation, waving the military option, or even economic sanctions.”
He stressed, “For more than ten years, they have been imposing unilateral sanctions on us, but the puzzling result of that is our technical and creative progress,” as he put it.
Mossad chief David Barnea threatened on Sunday to target Iranian leaders in the heart of Tehran in response to their attempts to target Israelis and Jews around the world.
During his speech before the Reichmann University conference, Barnea described Iran’s leaders as not having immunity.
Barnea continued his threat, saying: “The time has come to exact a different price from Iran. Targeting the Jews by any means, whether through agents or through Iranian weapons smuggled across the border, will lead to a response against the Iranians... The response will affect all levels, from the perpetrators of the attack to the highest levels, and I I mean what I say, and these prices will be collected deep inside Iran and in the heart of Tehran.”
He added: “This year, we thwarted 27 terrorist operations under orders and direction from Iran against Jews and Israelis all over the world. The Iranian regime cannot deny its responsibility for these attempts.”
