Security expert Ahmed Al-Tamimi said on Friday (October 11, 2024) that all evidence indicates that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is heavily infiltrated.
Al-Tamimi said in an interview, “The Revolutionary Guard is the strongest arm of the Iranian state, and the Quds Force is its icon in the external dimension. It has been shouldering multiple responsibilities since its formation within a vision that takes into account the strategic dimensions of the state and its interests in a region that has been witnessing tensions that have accumulated for decades.”
He added, "The fall of the elite leaders of the Quds Force in a series of assassinations within a short period in Lebanon and Syria and at a high level at the hands of the occupying entity proves beyond doubt the existence of major breaches in its secret circle of activity. It has even reached the stage of determining the path of movement of its most prominent leaders, and this explains the precision of the series of assassinations."
He explained that "Tehran realized after the assassination of Nasrallah and the most prominent leaders of Hezbollah that the extent of the breaches is large and some of its axes may be in the heart of the Revolutionary Guard itself, and this explains the important investigations that were opened in the heart of this institution in the past weeks and may reveal heavy surprises."
He added, "Iran will not disclose the results of the investigations, but it can be observed that the actual field variables contributed to the failure of a series of assassinations that took place in Syria and Lebanon in the past few days, which confirms that some of the decisions were fruitful and in the right direction."
Al-Tamimi stated that “technical espionage is the most dangerous, but the presence of agents is important for Mossad in order to proceed with identifying targets, noting that “despite the loss of important names in the Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah leaders, it will be the beginning of addressing breaches that may have gone on for years without being detected.”
During its ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, Israel carried out assassinations targeting a number of prominent leaders in the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), amid a sharp escalation in the confrontations that have been ongoing for about a year, most notably the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, the Deputy Commander of the Revolutionary Guard Operations, General Abbas Nilforoushan, the Head of the Political Bureau of the Hamas Movement, Ismail Haniyeh, and many other leaders of the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and the Hamas Movement.
