    Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani met in New York, yesterday evening (Baghdad time), Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway, Jonas Jar Storhe, on the sidelines of his participation in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
    The meeting witnessed discussion of bilateral relations between the two countries, and the importance of consolidating them by activating joint cooperation in various fields.
    Al-Sudani urged Norway to restore resident diplomatic representation and open the Norwegian embassy in Baghdad. In order to develop diplomatic relations between the two countries, he called on Norwegian companies to work in Iraq and benefit from the available investment opportunities.
    For his part, Stoura stressed that Iraq and Norway are economically similar in terms of their dependence on oil and gas, and that his country has experience in investing imports through Norway’s sovereign fund, as well as its experience in the field of associated gas investment, praising the efforts of Mr. Sudanese in achieving stability for the country, as well as the efforts of Iraq is supporting the stability of the region, by bringing the views of regional countries closer together, which will reflect on their security and the prosperity of their people.
