    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The head of the State of Law coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, received in his office today the new UK ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchen.
    At the beginning of the meeting, Nouri Al-Maliki expressed his welcome to Ambassador Hitchin, wishing him success in his new mission as his country's ambassador in Baghdad, stressing that Iraq has close relations with the United Kingdom in various fields.
    The two sides reviewed the latest developments in the political and security situation and the repercussions of regional and international events.
    The head of the State of Law coalition stressed Iraq's keenness to strengthen its relations with all friendly countries, including the relationship with the United Kingdom, noting that Iraq is living in a state of political and security stability and is witnessing the beginning of the launch of a major reconstruction campaign, and is preparing to hold local elections at the end of this year that will contribute to the return of local governments to their effectiveness from In order to provide the best services to the Iraqi citizen. For his part, the ambassador expressed his happiness to represent his country in Iraq, his readiness for joint work and coordination, and his aspiration to do what he can to push the distinguished relations between the two countries forward.
