The Pentagon orders the US Army to prepare for deployment in the Middle East

Shafaq News/ The official representative of the US Department of Defense, Sabrina Singh, announced today, Wednesday, that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the army to prepare for deployment in the Middle East.
Singh added, in a press conference, “Austin has placed about 2,000 soldiers and a number of units on high alert through the ‘Ready to Deploy’ order, which increases the Department of Defense’s ability to respond quickly to the changing security situation in the Middle East.”
Despite Austin's order to put US armed forces on high alert, no decision has yet been made to send troops to the Middle East.
Sabrina Singh added that the Defense Minister will continue to evaluate the location of military forces and maintain close contact with American allies.
The Pentagon said in a statement that Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke last Monday with his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant, and reaffirmed the United States' commitment to avoiding escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, and stressed the safety of civilians.
